Beseda ravnatelja

Sem Primož Garafol.

Opravljam delo ravnatelja Zavoda Osnovna šola Horjul, ki ga sestavljata vzgojno-varstvena enota in osnovna šola. Imam tudi dolgoletne izkušnje z delom v srednji šoli in dobro poznam izobraževalni program od vrtca do mature.

Kot ravnatelj si uspešno prizadevam za urejenost šolskega prostora ter dobre pogoje za delo, za odprto in spodbudno komunikacijo z zaposlenimi in z učenci, za dobro sodelovanje s starši ter z zunanjim okoljem šole. Vsakodnevno si prizadevam za vzpostavljanje dobrih medčloveških odnosov in reševanje konfliktov.

Prepričan sem, da je vzgajanje dobrih medsebojnih odnosov najpomembnejše, da postane način življenja vsakega učenca. Zato mora šola omogočiti učencem dobro počutje, varnost in kakovostno izvedbo programa pridobivanja znanja.

Sistem samoevalvacije je trajen, nepretrgan proces, zato kot ravnatelj težim k temu, da učiteljski zbor šole in vrtca (komisija za kakovost, aktivi in strokovni delavci) sledita sistemu samoevalvacije ciljev, ki smo si jih je zastavili kot cilje v Letnem delovnem načrtu. S cilji, ki smo si jih zastavili, uvajamo možnosti dragocene individualizacije, projektnega dela in diferenciacije ter drugih oblik sodobnega pouka in didaktičnih sistemov, kjer je učenec subjekt v procesu vzgoje in izobraževanja. Poleg že sprejetih in vpeljanih ciljev in projektov se odločamo za tiste, ki so v naših pogojih izvedljivi in imajo vse strokovne podlage, da bodo postali reden način in redna oblika dela. Za kvalitetno doseganje navedenih ciljev je nujna nenehna strokovna rast pedagoškega zbora in ostalih strokovnih delavcev z ustrezno izbiro področja izobraževanja ter skrb za ustrezno zagotavljanje materialnih pogojev za delo. Tako smo si na primer za kvalitetno doseganje ciljev izbrali program ciklusa 4 delavnic na temo Pristopi, metode in tehnike za razvijanje kritičnega mišljenja v osnovnih šolah.

Delo v vrtcu poteka v skladu s cilji Kurikuluma ob upoštevanju načel, ki jih narekuje Kurikulum za vrtce. V vrtcu smo si kot prednostne cilje zastavili skrb za zdravje, varnost in optimalen razvoj vsakega otroka, oblikovanje prijetnega in spodbudnega bivalnega okolja, povečana vloga evalvacije pri načrtovanju dela. Naloga vrtca je tudi pomoč staršem pri celoviti skrbi za otroka.
Podpiram vključevanje v raznovrstne projekte, kar omogoča učiteljem in učencem, da razvijajo lastne interese.

Med ravnateljevanjem vseskozi skrbim za zakonito delovanje šole na vseh področjih, saj dosledno upoštevanje pravil omogoča dobro delovanje šole.

My name is Primož Garafol.

I am the headmaster of the institution primary school Horjul. Before taking this position I worked in the secondary school in Škofja Loka. I was a teacher.

As the head of primary school Horjul I manage both the kindergarden and the primary school. In our institution there are 70 employees. In the kindergarden just under 150 children are enrolled and in the primary school there are almost 300 pupils.
I am familiar with different levels of education, so I have become well aquainted with education starting from kindergarden to secondary school, to the final exam.

By doing my job as the headmaster I strive to offer our pupils quality education. That means that we care for their basic education, so we care for their personal, social and academic development and prepare them for the secondary school.

We nurture good interpersonal relationships. Pupils have to self evaluate themselves, so they have to fill out questionaries about their actions towards other school peers, towards teachers. The goal of this assigment is for pupils to acknowledge their behavior.
Our school fosters tolerance, communication and cooperation and imparts values for example that pupils take care of each other. We have developped tuturing, older ones tutor the yunger ones and there is a lot of tutoring also between classmates. So they can care about and help each other.

We develop high standards in the mother tongue and foreign languages. In our school pupils start learning the first foreign language-English in the second year. In the fourth year we offer pupils a second foreign language, which is German. Pupils can choose it, if they want.

We encourage reading and functional literacy. In the first triade we check our pupils’ knowledge in writing and reading. If pupils can not read and write they can not learn successfully. In all triades we encurage and develop languages and vocabulary and develop skills for writing, such as poems, essays, and similar.

We develop science skills (such as mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics) and other usefull skills throughtout cross‐curricular connection or project learning or co-operational learning. We belive that if only pupils are active and they work by themselves they develop their skills. By using this metod they can understand and use their knowledge in a theoretical as well as practical way.

We develop creativity in music and arts. All triades have a choir with choral singing and pupils prepare different kinds of exhibitions such as drawing or photography exhibitions, and so on, several times per years.

We encourage and keep regular contact with parents. Our goal is to strenghten the confidence among pupils, parents and teachers. We encourage socialising at different events and school activities, we involve the parents to help pupils with different projects.
In kindergarden we develop three different goals. Each of them covers a different area. The first goal is to develop language skills and movement. With the second goal we try to achieve that children are active members of the upbringing educational process. Teachers prepare a pleasant and motivational environment in which children get skills by researching, testing and choosing different activities.

The third goal is to achieve the evaluation of upbringing work by monitoring the children,s development.
By doing all this we develop quality basic education and we prepare pupils for the next level of education, we enable them to acquire basic competences they will need in their future development.
